Result of the 24th FIABCI Hungarian Prix d’Excellence

This year the Hungarian section of the world’s largest association of real estate experts – established in 1951 and having its headquarters in Paris – organised the Hungarian Prix d’Excellence for the twenty-fourth time.
This year, the scope of the organisation’s supporters has further expanded with Europa Design.
FIABCI Hungary and the supporters of the award set the objective to make this year’s award successful despite the increasingly difficult circumstances: we wanted to show the strength of the Hungarian economy and our trust in our ability to overcome any difficulty.
The real estate developers, constructors and designers showed outstanding activity in an exceptional situation; as a result, this year we received the second highest number of entries in the award’s history.
The applications of the 43 establishments allowed us to award the best projects in 9 functional categories, as well as in the Heritage Protection and Sustainable Construction quality categories, since there were at least three entries in each of them. In the previous period, development projects falling in categories where there were fewer than 3 projects with identical functions were at a disadvantage. Since last year, such projects have been classified in the miscellaneous category. In addition to category winners, special awards were handed out by the supporting organisations as well. In line with the traditions, a special award was presented to the establishment chosen by the applicants: according to the candidates’ secret votes, the House of Music Hungary was considered the best project, which result coincides with the jury’s opinion.

In addition to private investments, the projects include priority public investments and developments initiated by local governments.
The success of developments that represent the careful protection of our architectural heritage is remarkable.

The high quality of the works submitted to the competition proves that the good ideas of Hungarian developers were realised by the designers, the constructors and all contributors to high standards.
In the close competition, the projects having finished the competition behind the the winners are also of extremely high quality: their creators have made outstanding buildings and contributed to the renewal of their settlements.

Since the beginning of the award’s history, the jury’s work has been supported by experts Brigitte Jank from Austria and Adriena Litomericka from Slovakia. Making use of the online communication facilities tried last year, the jury had several foreign members this time again.
This year, the jury was once again in a difficult position, because there was severe competition not only among the applicants of the overall competition, but also in each category. The jury selected the winners after thorough analysis.
The visitors of the www.fiabcimagyarorszag.hu website, where each entry is presented, will be convinced of the high value represented by the projects submitted.

The process has not come to an end with the announcement of the results of this year’s competition, as the awardees have gained the right to participate in the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence international competition, supported by Wall Street.
The international success of Hungarian developments demonstrates the excellent quality of the work of Hungarian real estate developers, architects, and contractors. Since the first Award, winners of the Hungarian competition have won 33 gold and 39 silver awards at the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards – which makes them the best in Europe –, including 5 gold and 1 silver award this year. We hope that the winners of this year’s competition will continue the traditions and that there will be again some Hungarian projects among the winners at the Awards Gala to be held in 2023 within the framework of the Miami FIABCI Congress.
